The idea for En Vérité was born back in 2017, when Collin, then at a huge multinational venture capital fund, was commiserating with a founder about how messed up the early-stage startup ecosystem was. Founders had to spend too much time fundraising instead of building their companies, and investors rifled through thousands of pitch decks to find interesting startups, only to have the majority of them fail at due diligence. It was, in his mind, a complete crapshoot.
The initial design for neural network was a bit convoluted. Get it? Convoluted?
For the next seven years, Collin obsessed about ways to take the randomness out of early-stage investing and make it easier for great founders to meet great investors. But for seven years, he always found excuses not to take the leap and start a company to address the problem.
Then Greg, a frequent co-investor, and Leslie, a colleague, got tired of hearing him complain about venture funding and told him to "put up or shut up and start this damn company." To which Collin replied, "so long as you'll do it with me."
Some of the team have been a bit overwhelmed by customer demand.
Thus, in February of 2024, En Vérité was born. Our crack team of engineers began work on the artificial intelligence platform, carefully designing every component of the neural network, and developing a lightweight application to display our diligence reports.
In September of 2024, we launched our Closed-Beta, and within 45 days, had booked $150,000 in revenue.
We've been overjoyed at the amount of demand there has been from both investors and founders who take due diligence seriously. We're growing fast, and looking forward to driving our mission of making early-stage investing easier for investors and founders closer to its ideal state.
